Vladislav Shestakov took part in the BioHabana 2024 Congress
Upon the invitation of the Center for the State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices (CECMED), Cuba, the head of the Federal State Institution “State Institute of Drugs and Good Practices” of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation made a presentation at the symposium on Advances in Regulatory Trust among National Regulatory Authorities held as part of the BioHabana 2024 Сongress.
International BioHabana 2024 Congress was held on April 1st-5th at the Convention Center Plaza America, in Varadero, Cuba.
The event was attended by regulatory authorities, opinion leaders, as well as representatives of pharmaceutical companies.
In total, about 1,300 delegates from around the world attended the Congress.
In his presentation, Vladislav Shestakov stressed the importance of developing systems for the regulation of medicines and strengthening cooperation among pharmaceutical inspectorates of different countries, which is necessary for the experience exchange on approaches to the regulation in the field of medicinal products in terms of production control.
The system of the regulation in the field of medicinal products should be evolving taking into consideration current international standards that make the manufacturer strictly comply with the requirements for the production of high-quality, effective and safe drugs for patients around the world. Yet, the regulatory system should allow for a quick response to the challenges of the modern world.
The BioHabana Congress was held for the second time.
The first congress was organised in 2022, attended by delegates from more than 50 countries, and sessions covered issues related to the coronavirus pandemic, brain diseases, medical technologies, agricultural biotechnology and regulatory standards in the biopharmaceutical industry.
