The III All-Russia GMP conference with international participation Russia and the World. Management of the pharmaceutical market growth potential came to an end. The annual event brings together experts from the pharmaceutical industry.
This year the conference was held in the hospitable Kazan – the capital city of Tatarstan. More than 1000 participants took part in the event, which became a record number of all previous years.
On August 27, during the opening ceremony welcoming remarks addressed to the participants came from the office of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Federal Service for Surveillance in the Health Care, the National Center for Standardization and Health of the Russian Ministry of Health, and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Viktor Yevtukhov, State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation addressed the participants and guests of the conference, ‘Today, more than a thousand participants gathered for the event. We see that interest in the area grows heavily with every year, and this underlines its importance. It is important that the All-Russia GMP conference this year has significantly expanded its agenda, providing more opportunities for discussions, negotiations and obtaining expertise on the market. I am confident that the conference will add to the development and further strengthening of Russian pharmaceutical manufacturers. “
The agenda on day one was devoted to the regulatory legislation of the pharmaceutical market, the interaction of the state and business, the drivers of the market growth in the industry and other similar issues.
One of the key notes played at the panel Pharmaceutical industry of the Future. Government and business perspectives – was the Pharma 2030 strategy. Its draft went to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia for consideration recently. Given the relevance of this topic, the participants proposed changes in the draft of the strategy.
The second day of the conference was dedicated to international activities. During the plenary sessions on current issues, the speakers shared experience and suggested vectors for development of the pharmaceutical industry and country-to-country interaction.
It is notable that this year more than 70 foreign delegates took part in the conference, and 37 foreign speakers told about the best world practices. The geography of the conference is amazing: Spain, Japan, Cuba, Kazakhstan, USA, Croatia, Bulgaria, Mexico – participants flew from different parts of the world.
Participation of representatives of foreign companies was commented on by Vladislav Shestakov, the director of the FBU “GILS AND NP”: “One of the most important objectives of the event is the harmonization of the rules of good manufacturing practices and the work on mutual recognition by the participants of the professional international community. This year, we accept more than ten foreign regulators, including countries such as Japan, Cuba, Mexico. For the first time in Russia, a representative of the European Medical Agency will act as a speaker at the regulatory conference. “
At the closing ceremony, on the evening of day two guests completed a survey. The results shaped the picture of the most pressing and calling for attention issues the pharmaceutical community is facing. The survey questions – divided by the sessions – determined the main direction of development for the pharmaceutical industry for the next decade.

New trends and interaction modes – most participants answered that in order for the Russian regulating authority became one of the growth drivers for the Russian pharmaceutical market, it is necessary to harmonize Russian regulatory norms with international approaches.
By day three, the conference venue was zoned into master classes. The organizers took a serious approach to preparation and had collected beforehand requests from industry professionals for discussion topics.
As part of the first master class on GMP inspections, a thematic survey was conducted to identify areas that, according to manufacturers and experts, should be improved.

A GMP inspector of the Hungarian National Institute of Pharmaceutical and Nutriciology Agnes Szabo took part in the discussion of GMP application in Europe and Russia. I would like to thank the organizers who were able to unite so many people interested in the further development of the most important tasks on the pharmaceutical market.‘
Sixty companies supported the III All-Russia GMP conference with international participation in 2018. Valenta Pharm was the general partner, Gedeon Richter and TatKhimPharmPreparaty – strategic ones. Many pharmaceutical manufacturers supported both the conference and specific sessions. For example, Amgen partnered in the session dedicated to Modern regulatory system. The event aroused great interest in the media: about 40 accredited outlets, more than 15 information partners, including industrial and federal ones. The conference was also supported by professional organizations such as the Russian Association of Pharmacy Networks, the Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, the Moscow Pharmaceutical Society and the Union of Professional Pharmaceutical Organizations.
Full halls at each session and each master class has proven the relevance and significance of the conference, which means that in one year from now experts of pharmaceutical industry will convene again at the GMP conference.
