Commencement of International student festival GxP-Fest

The Festival opening began with the announcements of welcoming addresses on behalf of Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Sergey Glagolev and First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vasily Osmakov. In the address of Vasily Osmakov it was highlighted that one of the priorities of the pharmaceutical industry is the development of innovative and high-technology manufacturing of drugs, and that is why the formation of talent pool that meets the requirements and challenges of tomorrow, – is the most important objective of the development of the pharmaceutical industry.

In his speech Director of FSI “State Institute of Drugs and Good Practices” of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Vladislav Shestakov made an emphasis on the rapid development of the Russian pharmaceutical industry in recent years and highlighted that the fast-growing industry must be equipped with qualified cadres.

Also the members of the State Duma addressed words of greetings and farewell words to the students, participants of the Festival: Alexander Petrov, a member of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection and the Head of Expert Council of the Committee on Development of Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry, and Maxim Zaitsev, the Deputy Chairmen of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science.

The Chairman of the GxP-Fest Expert Council, Scientific director of the Federal Scientific State Budgetary Institution «N.A. Semashko National Research Institute of Public Health», Ramil Khabriev wished success in writing online Olympiad to the participants and promised that the assessment of works will be impartial and the strongest and most deserving students will be denoted.

After the ceremonial part and the announcement by Andrey Egorov, Executive Director of the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices, of the regulations of the online Olympiad, the main stage of the competitive part of the Festival – the solution of situational and practical problems took place. Out of 141 applications submitted to the Festival, 99 students from 36 universities in Russia and Eurasian Economic Union countries have reached the final and participated in writing the online Olympiad. The Supervisory Board followed the course of the competition remotely, ensuring the fairness and transparency of the competition. The results of the Olympiad will be summed up and announced on July 3, and the winners will receive personal scholarships of the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices.

In addition, on the first day of the Festival there was a quiz, the questions for which were prepared by the General Partner of GxP-Fest “MSD Pharmaceuticals” company together with the Tatiana Nikolko, Deputy Head of FSI “SID&GP” Inspectorate, Head of Educational Projects of FSI “SID&GP”, Advisor to the Executive Director of Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization “Eurasian Academy of Good Practices”. The results of the quiz will also be announced on July 3, and the best participants will receive valuable prizes.
