50 Years of Development: Semashko Forum saw a session on the half century of the FSI “SID & GP”

This year the Institute is celebrating its first 50 years, during which its name, departmental affiliation, and main goals of activity have transformed more than once, but one thing remained unchanged, i.e. concern for quality medicines supply.

Vladislav Shestakov, Director of the FSI “SID & GP” of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that the Institute’s birthday is July 5, 1973, when, in accordance with the order No. 324-dsp of the Ministry of Medical Industry of the USSR, the All-Union Research Institute of Blood Substitutes and Hormonal Drugs Technology was established.

He further focused on the key milestones in the history and activities of the Institute in the period from 1973 to 2013, its leadership and main achievements.

After that, an emphasis was placed on the modern history of the Institute, while the role of the Russian pharmaceutical inspectorate was particularly noted.

He also spoke about other areas of activity, such as Analytics, Engineering, the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices, the National Center for Reference Standards.

At the end of the historical session, Vladislav Shestakov thanked everyone for attention and concluded, “Our most valuable assets are people, and everyone’s achievements contribute to the overall victories of the Institute. We indeed appreciate our 50-year history, because without knowing our past it is impossible to build a bright future!”
