The Director of SID & GP opened a new manufacturing site in Nizino

Within the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, a formal opening of a new manufacturing site «Severnaya Zvezda» took place.

«Expansion of production capacities is a step towards strengthening of the potential of the domestic pharmaceutical industry,»  the Director of SID & GP Mr. Vladislav Shestakov emphasized congratulating the team of the site on behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.

A formal opening of a new manufacturing site of the plant of Non-public Joint-Stock Company «Severnaya Zvezda» took place on 06 June. The site is expected to manufacture about 10 mln packs of 12 medicines in various dosage forms in 2019. Further on, the manufacturing site is expected to release up to 25 mln packs.

«For more than 20 years already, «Severnaya Zvezda» has been manufacturing high-quality and effective medicines making a significant contribution to the process of providing citizens with drug products,» the Director of SID & GP Mr. Vladislav Shestakov said speaking with a congratulatory address on behalf the first Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Mr. Sergey Tsyb. «Expansion of production capacities is yet another step towards strengthening of the potential of the domestic pharmaceutical industry. Minpromtorg of Russia encourages implementation of projects aimed at development of manufacturing competences and manufacture of high-tech products.»

The Deputy Head of the Russian State GMP Inspectorate visited the production building of the new site including 2 production lines for tablets, 2 packaging lines capable of performing the marking process, the sachet production line, as well as the quality control laboratory possessing instruments to carry out all types of analytical and microbiological tests. Focusing on a high level of competences employed by personnel of «Severnaya Zvezda», Mr. Vladislav Shestakov confirmed that medicines were manufactured according to GMP standards, which was supported by the certificate issued by Minpromtorg of Russia.

«Severnaya Zvezda» – is a spectacular example of a successful transformation from an API distribution company, which it used to be in the beginning, to a full-cycle drug manufacturing enterprise,» Mr. Vladislav Shestakov emphasized.
