BIOPROM: First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov Presented with Results of “SID & NP” and NCSO’s Work
During a tour of the BIOPROM exhibition on the first day of the forum, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov was briefed on the performance results of the “SID & NP” and the National Center for Standard Samples (NCSO).
In accordance with an assignment from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the “SID & NP” Analytical Center is conducting a systemic data collection on raw materials, materials, and components (RM&C). This includes pharmaceutical substances, excipients, chemical reagents, and other consumables used in drug manufacturing. The initial phase involved gathering and systematizing information on raw materials for producing chemically synthesized substances. Work is currently underway to collect data on excipients, substances of biological and biotechnological origin, process equipment, and packaging. The main data collection is scheduled for completion within the current year, with ongoing updates and verification to follow. All consolidated data is provided to the Ministry, stated the head of “”SID & NP”. This information is used to form a consolidated pharmaceutical industry procurement plan for related sectors, primarily within the framework of the implemented National Technological Initiative “New Materials and Chemistry” and the developing NTI “Technological Support for the Bioeconomy”.
The task of the National Center for Standard Samples – a subsidiary of GILS NP – is to supply pharmaceutical companies with modern reference standards, develop exports, and build a sustainable base for the production and quality control of medicines.
From 2022 to 2024, the Center certified 250 reference standards, 74 of which received interstate status. These products are supplied to domestic and Belarusian pharmaceutical manufacturers.
Another significant achievement of the NCSO is the development of domestic consumables for chromatographic equipment. The Deputy Prime Minister was presented with the first domestically produced chromatographic column.
“In December 2024, during a business breakfast with the Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov, the head of a leading association highlighted a critical industry issue – the lack of supply for such consumables. The NCSO was then tasked with creating domestic columns. Today, in partnership with Belarusian colleagues, we have launched production of domestic chromatographic columns under our own brand, Calibra Chrom,” said Vladislav Shestakov.
Chromatographic columns are used for quality control of various substances, including during drug examinations, tests, and research. Demand for chromatographic instruments and their consumables also exists in the food and chemical industries.
Another key event of the forum was the signing of a cooperation agreement between expert industry organizations and an association:
● GILS NP, represented by Director Vladislav Shestakov;
● Institute of Medical Materials, represented by Director Ilya Kazeev;
● ChemPharmTech Association, represented by Board Chairman Antonina Melnichenko.
The agreement aims to develop the domestic base of raw materials, materials, and components, including low-tonnage chemistry products used in the manufacturing of medicines, medical devices, and rehabilitation aids.
The BIOPROM forum is taking place in Gelendzhik on October 6-7. The event is held with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
