Delegation of the FSI “SID & GP”, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, paid tribute to the soldiers killed in the Great Patriotic War

Today, the delegation of the FSI “State Institute of Drugs and Good Practices”, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, led by Director of the Institute Vladislav Shestakov paid tribute to the soldiers killed in the Great Patriotic War, laying the wreaths and flowers to the Eternal Flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden. 

 

 

Annually, employees of the FSI “SID & GP”, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, hold the wreath-laying ceremony on the occasion of commemorative dates in connection with the Great Patriotic War. The 2020 ceremony took place to mark the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, whereas last year’s ceremony marked the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the war. This year, the wreath-laying ceremony is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Battle of Stalingrad. After the solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Eternal Flame by the Guard of Honor of the Presidential Regiment, Director of the FSI “SID & GP”, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vladislav Shestakov knelt at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and together with other employees of the Institute honoured the memory of the fallen soldiers with a minute of silence. Then other participants of the ceremony laid flowers at the memorial.

 

 

“In 2020, for the first time, we decided to lay wreaths to the Eternal Flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, it was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory”, noted Vladislav Shestakov, Director of the FSI “SID & GP”, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. “Last year, we remembered one of the darkest pages of history of Russia in the 20th century – the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War, and this year we commemorate the turning point in the course of that war – the onset of the Battle of Stalingrad. I believe it is important for all of us to pay homage to such significant events when the fighting spirit and commitment of the Soviet people changed the course of war, with the victory of the Battle of Stalingrad being a decisive factor for the further outcome of the 2nd World War”.
